Today was a very hot day, over 37°, we left early, what is early? We get up at 6.00 but we don’t get organised to leave until 8.00, but we left earlyish to avoid the heat and very glad we did. It was a short ride, just 60km, to the campsite… where we paid 9.00€ for two small Heineken beers to cool us down😱 it’s a very nice campsite, with a pool we enjoyed, even if the price of a small beer was rather excessive!
We’re now in La Châtre, a very old crumbly city, small streets, steep hills, very lively streets, christoph says it’s like all the others😂 it is but it isn’t, but one thing's for sure though, the church is always in the middle of the village, as christoph’s dad used to say.
Some right gypsies live here😂 it's no wonder we never leave the campsite before 8.00🙈
This evening we learned about George Sand a famous feminist who lived in the Berry area from a fellow cyclist, a young guy called Rennie who chatted with us as bats swooped and dived around us.
Crazy one way system of old but lively streets in La Châtre
My world, and in this heat of 37° plus, a big must🙌
