Day 4 and 5 Bescancon and Dole

The last two days were quite dramatic in that Christoph's bike was stolen in the night from the campsite in Dole! We spent a day at the police station filing a report, for sure the police won't do anything. We put my mother on loud speaker on the phone to help us translate.

After the police we went to Decathlon where we literally took the only bike that fitted! The young man that helped us was so unbelievably helpful and supportive of our cycling demands, he really offered some good advice and set the bike up so that we could leave right there and then.

The most frustrating and annoying thing was the attitude of the campsite! They offered no apology and no assistance. The owner even claimed his security camera didn't work at night, he took no accountability at all for what happened and showed no empathy whatsoever! I will never recommend Camping de Pasquier to anyone! Awful people! Do not go there!

The two campers on either side of us also had things stolen. They took the GPS system from one and clothes from a clothes line from the other, they were a young couple and had printed shirts with pictures of themselves on, a wedding gift from friends. What are those guys going to do with that! Along with the bike they took my old HSV football cap, bikini bottoms, and a lot of things from the two small bags on Christoph's bike!

Really so upsetting, but we don't let them beat us, we cycle on 🙌😃 It also gave us the opportunity to meet and make friends with Rachel who had her GPS stolen.

Dole itself is a beautiful city, I had not realized it's the home of Louis Pasteur.

Bescancon has a lot to offer and see, unfortunately it was early Sunday morning and we wanted to be on our way so we couldn't see a lot. We brought breakfast from a small market in the center and looked at the amazing buildings.
